Formed in 1989 as a subsidiary of Pontrilas Timber and Builders' Merchants Ltd, PGP existed initially to supply the packaging requirements of British Steel's tinplate division, now called Corus Tinplate.
Since then, PGP has grown into a national company supplying all the packaging needs of many of the world-class manufacturing companies in Britain. Corus are still good customers but account for less than 10% of our business rather than the original 100%.
Our customers comprise of the largest manufacturers in the metals industry (steel, tinplate, aluminium), several household electrical and battery giants, leading chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturers, insulation manufacturers, the automotive industry and food suppliers. In fact anyone who uses the many packaging products referred to in this brochure.
We have diversified over the last 20 years from a timber pallet maker to a leading 'one stop shop' for all packaging requirements. This diversification is now set to continue with the offer of logistical and storage solutions to our customers and a recycling service for packaging. Over the last 2 years we have installed 3 new automated pallet lines and we are about to install a 4th. Continued investment in automation has led to growth through competitiveness, quality and service. In the last 12 months we have also become manufacturers of licensed Euro Pallets. We are already selling 20,000 per month to new and existing customers on top of the 160,000 other pallets we already produce per month.
PGP remains a family business with an emphasis on quality, service levels and value for money. We realise that our customers are not only important to our business, but we are also essential to theirs. This makes it even more important to get things right!
I look forward to welcoming potential and existing customers to PGP, to see what we are capable of on a first hand basis.
Yours faithfully,

Edward Hickman
Managing Director
