What our biomass boiler means to us…

Miles travelled and wood waste reductions

Pontrilas Packaging used to send out for recycling, approximately 200 articulated vehicles of wood waste. This equates to approximately 2000 tonnes of wood waste.

Pontrilas Packaging also used to travel to dispose of wood waste, approximately 200 vehicles at 14.2 miles per trip = 2840 miles travelled.
This equates to approximately 7600kgs of C02 produced by the vehicles transporting the wood waste. Pontrilas Packaging has reduced the above by 100%.
The 2000 tonnes of wood waste will be used onsite as fuel for our biomass boiler/kiln - 100% reduction in miles travelled and
100% reduction in C02 emissions produced.
